Thanks in part to heightened marketing by American Express, small businesses are looking forward to big shopping on Saturday, November 26th. Gaining momentum since it was established in 2016, Small Business Saturday 2015 saw 95 million people darken the doors of their favorite small businesses, according to American Express.
"Focusing on Saturday is a perfect fit for Fresh Ink's business," according to Elizabeth Upchurch. "For years, it's been our experience that "Black Friday" belongs to the discounters and big box stores. We love the swing of the pendulum to highlight Saturday as a day to support and celebrate small businesses that make your city unique."
This year American Express put even more marketing tools in the hands of small businesses, hosting an online "shop" where custom branded marketing materials can be created and downloaded. Upon request, small businesses could order a limited edition canvas tote, designed by one of our favorite artists, Rifle Paper Company. Fresh Ink filled the totes with goodies from the store and plans to give them away to clients making large purchases on Saturday.
"Consumers seek out different businesses for different reasons," Elizabeth says. "Encouraging shoppers to take a look at what small businesses bring to their community and get to know the people behind those businesses is truly priceless."
